Wisdom is the Principle Thing

Wisdom is the Principle Thing Proverbs 3:21 in the Message Bible says, “Dear friend, guard clear thinking and common sense with your life; don't for a minute lose sight of them.” You know so many Believers seem to lose their clear thinking and common sense once they've become Born Again; not walking in what the King James Version, in that same verse calls discretion, which is the power or right to decide or act according to one's own judgment. Discretion also means acumen, which is the ability to understand and reason. Another word for discretion is Caution. God has naturally given us these things, common sense and discretion, so we may use them in everyday decision making. Proverbs 27:12, say, “A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.” That word prudent simply means intelligent or someone who is able to manage practical affairs; it also means discreet. When we're prudent or sensible we are equipped to not fall into situations or circumstances that will harm us. God has given us this characteristic or ability and according to His Word to us, it's not something we should stop walking in when we become Born Again Believers. Proverbs 3:23 says, “Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.” When we haven't lost sight of God-given, clear, rational thinking and common sense, these simple attributes or qualities will keep us safe and cause us not to stumble. The English Standard Version says we will be able to walk securely. Allow that inner witness that we all sometimes hear, to keep us safe from slipping, stumbling and falling. And, don't lose sight of it! Mark 10:15 in the message bible translation says: 15 Mark this: Unless you accept God's kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you'll never get in." If We can't understand, (comprehend, discern, to be thoroughly familiar with, to interpret or apprehend clearly) the kingdom of God as pronounced in the King James Version we cannot enter into it. We must receive and believe the truth of God's Word just as a child believes in his or her parental overseers without question. Not only believing but speaking it, knowing that the word is Truth without fail! This simply means if healing is in His kingdom and it's for us, we should receive His free gift for us! If abundant living is in His kingdom, then we should walk in the abundant life! We need to receive it and accept it as truth and know that it's ours to have without question. This is the trust and confidence we have in knowing God is our Father, the same trust and confidence that a child has in their parents should be the same and more so with our Heavenly Father.
